All you ever wanted to know
About Olivia
I'm a thirty-something woman, married, living in San Francisco. I'm not a firebreather. Yet.
Crossfit changed my life. I'd been mostly inactive since puberty robbed me ( I believed) of my body and my mind. I developed breasts and hips and an all-consuming interest in boys, cars, and trouble. My fitness journey started when I decided I wanted to lose weight before I had breast reduction surgery. It took me about a year to lose 30lbs with the help of a really excellent personal trainer and a nutritionist who was willing to work with my vegan diet. I loved working out. I started reading fitness blogs.
I found Crossfit through the movie 300. After rewatching a rental of the movie, I googled and found an account of what the actors had done at Gym Jones to achieve their physiques. The word Crossfit popped up. I lost hours that night; I read, watched videos, and looked at pictures, learned all I could about this insane torture method. Dear god, I thought to myself, who would put themselves through that willingly?
A month later I was at San Francisco Crossfit, finding out for myself.
